Moving on with Persistent Pain
Who should attend?
People whose lives are impacted by persistent pain.
8 weeks – 2 hour sessions – offered InPerson or virtually through Zoom
A participant manual is available for a $20 material fee, for pick up at the RDPCN office. If this fee creates a barrier for you, the fee can be waived.
Training includes pacing your daily activities to improve your stamina and energy while preventing flare ups. Explore the mind-body connection through engaging activities. Challenge yourself to change lifestyle factors that impact your pain.
Topics include exercise, nutrition, sleep, managing grief and stress, relaxation skills, medication, and coping strategies.
How do you get into the program?
You can self-refer by calling 403.314.3297 or obtain a referral from your RDPCN family doctor.
When you self-refer consider having a friend registered with you as this can provide support for positive change.
If you are already seeing a RDPCN nurse, psychologist, mental health counsellor, recreation therapist or pharmacist you can ask them about a referral.
Make the course a priority. Attend the weekly workshop and practice skills daily to reach your goals. Be open minded and willing to consider trying new activities or techniques.
