Moving on with Persistent Pain
Join us for an informative and supportive workshop designed for:
- People who have pain that has persisted longer than three months
- People who want to focus on their life rather than their pain
- People who want to learn skills to better manage their pain
- People who want to improve their overall quality of life
Topics addressed in this workshop included:
- Understanding the purpose of pain
- Learn optimal approaches to physical activity
- Learn how to use mindfulness techniques to improve your pain experience
- Learn coping strategies
- Manage grief and emotional processing
- Develop better relationships and communication around your needs
- Learn how to eat healthy while living with pain
- Learn strategies to improve your sleep while living with pain
Each workshop includes a short movement break, led through exercises designed to promote health, improve mobility and enhance quality of life.
Workshop Format:
Adults (18+)
8 week sessions, 2 hours in length – offered In-Person or virtually using zoom
How do you get into the workshop?
- You can be referred by your RDPCN primary care provider or,
- If your primary care provider is part of the RDPCN you can self-refer by calling 403.314.3297.
- If you are already seeing a RDPCN Nurse, Psychologist, Mental Health Counsellor, Recreation Therapist or Pharmacist, you can ask them about a referral.
Participant Manual
You will be require to purchase a participant manual for $20 available at the RDPCN Primary Clinic. A free pdf version is available online.
If the fee for the participant manual creates a barrier for you to attend, speak with a staff member when you arrive for your workshop.
